Look and Feel

Jawbone Era measures 51.3 mm in length, 14.5 mm in breadth and 24.1 in height. It weighs just 10.2 grams.

The headset looks sturdy and fashionable and comes in four sophisticated designs: Shadowbox (black metal), Smokescreen (brown copper), the Midnight (black over a red background) and the Silver Lining ((silver over a white background).

All the four headsets possess layered surface with metallic grid on the top. They are rectangular in shape but slightly curved to fit at the side of your face.

On to the top, there is a multifunction talk button which is slightly raised and grooved so that you do not have problem in operating it when in use. You can also see a micro USB jack here for charging.

The back side of the headset houses the earpiece, curved flexible ear loop, and a voice activity sensor.

The sensor it surrounded by an LED indicator which flash white and red color light to show the status of the device.

The headset does not have any separate volume rocker. If you anyway want to increase or decrease the volume, you either needs to use your phone volume control or you need to press and hold the talk button to increase or decrease the volume.

Interestingly, the headset comes with 8 fit options, four with loops and four without loops.

Features

Era features military grade NoiseAssasin 3.0 to kill the background noise. It also provides the feature to adjust the call volume automatically to give you best sound experience.

It also has a built-in accelerometer. It allows you to answer or end the call by just two taps on the surface and also allow you to pair the device with other devices via Bluetooth by just shaking it four times.

Jawbone has called this functionality 'TapTap' and 'ShakeShake'.

With the use of 10mm wideband speakers, the audio is offered in with full spectrum and HD sound quality.

You can download related apps by signing into MyTalk (mytalk.jawbone.com). This repository will provide you with interesting apps, access new features like Caller ID by name, set different voices and other language options, etc.

The handset's battery lasts 5.5 hours. For your iPhone, the battery tab is visible on the status bar to show you battery life. Alternatively you can press the talk button to listen to the verbal voice update for your battery.

The pairing is taken care by Bluetooth 2.1 with a range up to 10 meters.
